FAQs

Investor in Customers (IIC) is a leading customer experience consultancy that helps businesses to develop stronger relationships with their customers to ensure they stay longer, buy more, and refer others.

Becoming registered as A Company that Cares makes you stand out as a company that puts their customers first – giving you a competitive advantage that will attract new customers.

The process is simple. You complete a self-evaluation consisting of 20 questions relating to how well you understand your customers and meet their needs. This, together with the supporting evidence you provide to the dedicated Companies That Care portal is then assessed by an experienced CX practitioner at IIC. At the same time IIC runs a diagnostic on how customer centric you appear from the outside – looking at information any potential new customer would access. The scores from your self-evaluation are combined to provide an overall result.

To become A Company That Cares you need to achieve a minimum overall score of 8/10.

You will be sent a link to a comprehensive report that shows your strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement.

The accreditation lasts for 12-months from the date you receive your award, after which you need to redo your evaluation to ensure you still meet the Companies That care standard.

The online Companies That Care directory showcases all qualifying companies. In addition, you will receive a Companies That Cares digital badge to use on your website, social media and email footers to showcase your award. A range of branded trophies, plaques and other merchandise options is also available to allow you to differentiate your business at every opportunity.

The bar for good customer experience (CX) is constantly rising so standing still is going backwards. By annually reviewing your award your customers can be assured that you continue to excel in terms of CX.

Not everyone passes first time, but don’t worry, IIC will highlight areas where you don’t fully comply with the Companies That Care standard. Your evaluation fee allows you to resubmit your scores and evidence taking into account how well you perform first time.

Yes, just like in the real world companies compete against each other so all qualifying companies are included in the directory.

Your report will highlight key areas for improvement. For those customers looking to take their CX to the next level, IIC offer a range of solutions and awards to help develop our business into one that excels in terms of customer experience.

Yes, your report will show you how your score compares to the Companies That Care. As more companies become accredited the benchmarking will extend to sector comparisons.

We recognise that not every interaction is perfect, sometimes things go wrong. Companies That Care do not claim that every experience will be exceptional, but that qualifying companies have evidenced that their culture, and procedures are designed to delight customers and that if things do go wrong they go out of their way to put things right.

Testimonials

At Four Front Events and Business Fest South West we’re always striving to put people at the heart of everything we do. Working with Investor in Customers gave us a fresh perspective on how well we’re living up to that commitment. We’re proud to have achieved the ‘A Company That Cares’ accreditation, which recognises the importance we place on building genuine relationships and delivering experiences that truly support our exhibitors, partners and visitors. It was a real pleasure working with Sharon Clapp and her team throughout the process. They made everything straightforward, clear and easy to understand, which meant we could focus on what mattered most – listening, learning and improving. Investor in Customers provided a clear, independent process that helped us celebrate what we’re doing well and highlight areas to keep improving. We’re delighted with the outcome and the recognition it brings.
